In My Humble Opinion

Though many believe feminism is unnecessary and that men and women are now equal, the underlying aggression and everyday cynical mannerisms within our society blatantly prove otherwise.

The feminist narrative will be under-construction until our basic humanity, safety, and rights are recognized and become an active part in constructing our own society.

I can not begin to explain the amount of inhumane sexism so deep rooted in our society, perpetuated by legislature and pop culture.

“Pro-Life” advocates occupying seats in Congress-who for the majority of the part are white males- intend to strip away women’s privacy and right to their own body.

New Jersey and Rhode Island do not consider incest a criminal offense, but will suppress and dissemble resources for abortion, even in the case of rape and incest.

Double standards poison the female identity.

Birth control pills for men are barely advertised and even unavailable in parts of the states because they induce headaches, breakouts, and stomach aches. Sound familiar?

These are the same symptoms of female birth control pills which are highly advertised and normalized in heterosexual relationships.

Women are systematically institutionalized to bare pain and inconvenience and are constantly stigmatized for being sexually active unless we “keep quiet” about it.

We are called sluts, whores, and cunts, when we want to take ownership of our body and sexuality.

We are told to “calm down” in situations so our ideas can be silenced and later on exploited by our male colleagues.

In the United States, the government does not offer a single week of paid maternity leave to help female employees adjust to a healthy lifestyle.

Tampons, which are needed by all females, are taxed while viagra is not.

The entire political system creeps with misogyny that treats women as second-class citizens - no, incubators.

When women enter a male-dominated field, wages for both parties go down, signifying that the work women do is less valuable than work men do. Women do not choose lower paying jobs, their jobs pay lower when they choose it.

My mind almost spirals out of control when I start thinking about brothels, and rape culture, and the vulgar insanity women are brainwashed into thinking they possess when they self-identify as a“feminist” or a“social justice warrior”.

Until the political system properly punishes those that hurt women, females are not socially and economically ousted by legislator, and people are able to identify as “feminists” without feeling the need to explain a woman's basic rights in the face of cynicism, men and women will not be equal.
